ARENA OF STARS, RESORTS WORLD GENTING
Japanese new age electronic folk music artiste Kitaro is set to perform in Malaysia on Christmas eve at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting in Genting Highlands. It has been six years since Kitaro last performed in Malaysia. Music lovers can expect a unique and visually-inspiring concert experience from the 64-year-old multi-instrumentalist, famed for his brand of contemplative and highly melodic synthesizer music.
The live show, dubbed Kojiki & The Universe, merges the music of his Grammy-nominated album, Kojiki, with dynamic space-age photographic scenes of the universe. The Kojiki & The Universe Live Tour began in April this year in California and has since gone on to major cities in Europe, including London and Istanbul.
The tour will continue in November with several stops in Romania, Ukraine and Bulgaria before it lands in Malaysia.Kitaro, whose real name is Masanori Takahashi, began playing and composing music in the early 1970s. His unique fusion of electronic artistry, traditional Japanese forms and pop-inflected Western idioms created a rich, harmonic and poetic sound that garnered him a huge international following. Kitaro won a Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score for his work on the movie Heaven And Earth and a Grammy Award for Best New Age Album for Thinking Of You.
